HRSGNA Board News - June 2015
Posted about 10 years ago by Laura Habighorst
HRSGNA Board met last night at North Kansas City Hospital. Minutes will be posted when approved at the next meeting.
Highlights include the following:
- Board is seeking volunteers to help assist in planning the First Esophageal Cancer Awareness Walk. Debra Fieth will chair this worthy cause. There was interest from many within our HRSGNA Region and we would like to involve you in our planning. If you are interested please contact HRSGNA at our website and Debra will get in touch with you. We have moved the date to April 2016 to coincide with Esophageal Cancer Awareness Month.
- Reminder HRSGNA offers scholarships for certification exams and renewals. Please check out the scholarship link on the webpage.
- Julie Rangel, Director-at-Large, will be chairing the HRSGNA Handbook Review Committee (Marie Fanning, Aline Moore, Debra Fieth). The handbook was last updated in 2011 and changes have taken place within the organization with additional scholarships, reimbursement rates, vendor fees, website management, etc. that necessitate updating. This information will be presented at the Fall Conference membership meeting.
- Fall Conference will be a shortened program again based upon responses from the Spring Conference. Save the Date information will be coming. Date is tentatively set for September 26, 2015 at North Kansas City Hospital. As an FYI, the Board rotates meeting sites between NKCH and St. Joseph Medical Center as they are the only two facilities with conference rooms large enough to hold us and they are provided at no charge to HRSGNA. We appreciate their generousity.
- HRSGNA will partner with Dr. Jonnalagadda on December 5, 2015 for the the Annual Updates in Gastroenterology and Hepatology Course. This conference will be located at the Hotel Intercontinental and CNEs will be provided. Save the Date infromation will be forthcoming.
